Last May 6th, Research Line 1 – Ocean and Coastal monitoring and modelling – met at CIIMAR for a new coordination meeting to discuss the work achieved in this line during the last 6 months.

Several work developments were discussed, namely:
📌 New studies & data on Coastal Observatory and Monitoring, including new ocean campaigns and samplings (together with RL2) – with interesting results on dolphin communication!
📌 New studies & data also on Wave Energy and Coastal Morphodynamics, including new analysis and physical simulations for wave energy studies, plus evaluation of solutions based on artificial reefs;
📌 More new data & results (including an ongoing master thesis!) on Global change and Marine and Estuarine Biological systems;
📌 Even more studies (and thesis!) on Deep sea Dynamics Modelling and Experimentation, with new publications being expected soon!
Also new ecosystem discoveries on the biology & geology of deep sea waters, using some sophisticated new equipment (including a ROV named Ramon) and studies on microorganisms’ metagenome is ongoing. Many of their studies are being carried out by new coworkers who were recently hired to work in the project – welcome to the ATLANTIDA team!!

Keep checking to find out more about their results!
