Today (21st of April 2023), Research Line 5 – Biotechnological valorization of marine biomass – met online for a new coordination meeting to discuss the progress and difficulties in developing RL5 research activities!
Several work developments were discussed, namely:
📌 New studies & data on isolation and characterization of collagen from marine sponges and from other marine animals, envisaging biomedical application, among other potential usages;
📌 Marine sponges characterization;
📌 Extraction of xylan and xylooligosaccharides from Palmaria palmata;
📌 Unleashing the potential of macroalgae.
Also, future activities regarding ATLANTIDA’s Coordination, Communication, Dissemination, and Exploitation of Results were discussed.
